COST: $10.00 per handler. (Pay at the event-cash or checks to MN NAVHDA)
Quail will be available at a cost of about $8.00 each. There will be an initial limit of 3 birds per dog. Additional birds may be purchased after 10:30 a.m.
Please email your bird quantity to mitch.carlson@mnnavhda.org by March 23rd. Note: One or two birds will be plenty for new dogs or handlers.
Note! You will need to be a member of both MN-NAVHDA, and NAVHDA International to train with our group!
Our New Member Orientation day will be an excellent opportunity for our new members to meet each other, to be introduced to some experienced NAVHDA handlers, to learn more about what our Chapter offers, and to get some important field time with your dog. We will discuss the many training opportunities we have available for you throughout the year, briefly discuss NAVHDA’s testing system, and pair off with some experienced handlers to get some one on one time. New members should feel free to approach anybody and ask for guidance. If they don’t know the answer, they can probably point you to someone who can help.
Water work may be available depending on temperature (but don’t count on it). Experienced NAVHDA members will be on hand to assist participants with all levels of experience. If you need a shooter we’ll supply someone for you.
Please remember this is a “training day” not a hunting day. There will be an open field to exercise your dog prior to your field work. Puppies are welcome for their 1st bird introduction.
Bring lunch, check cord, shotgun, shells no larger than 7 shot, and a bird bag if you have one. Blaze orange will be required in the field!!
