This class uses positive reinforcement methods to teach your dog what it needs before you head to the field.  It will cover the basics of clicker training, heel, down/stay, crate manners, recall and retrieving, along with other useful skills needed in a hunting dog.  This class is for training you to train your dog. Reference documents will be provided for each class to help with the home training.  The expectation is you will work with your dog at home at least 20 minutes a day, several days a week.

Tools you will need: Clicker, treats & treat bag, 5–6 foot lead, flat collar, dumbbell style retrieving dummy, kennel & blanket to cover, and carpet square for your dog to lay on.  You may also want a 5 gallon pail to put your stuff in and use as a seat for some of the training.  Do NOT bring a grab/pinch collar, wonder leads or e-collars to class.  This is NOT a force-oriented training approach.

It is strongly recommended that your dog be vaccinated for Bordetella (kennel cough), prior to class.
