For those of you who head out west in the early season, it’s time to start thinking about getting your dogs protected with the rattlesnake vaccine. On Point Veterinary Services is again this year offering this service to Minnesota NAVHDA members.
If your dog was vaccinated last year they would just need a booster this year, ideally 3-4 weeks prior to your trip. If your dog has not been vaccinated with this vaccine, or there has been a gap in between years they would need an initial dose and a booster 3 weeks later. After that the vaccine is fully effective in another 2-3 weeks.
Cost is $40 per dose. Venmo preferred. (Cash or checks also accepted.)
