This clinic will be led by NAVHDA Judge Pete Aplikowski. Registration is required-see below.
We are continuing our efforts as a chapter to expand advanced training opportunities for our members, especially those working toward the UPT & UT tests. The NAVHDA UPT & UT “Search for Duck” test segment can be intimidating for young dogs or first time handlers.
This clinic will center around an explanation of this segment of the UPT & UT tests, as described in the AIMS Program & Test rules. We will run some demonstration dogs to observe and then go over some training techniques for this task. You may or may not get to work with your own dog, but will learn some valuable info for the future either way. Dogs we will put in the marsh must be reliable retrievers of ducks. This does not have to be Prize 1 level work of delivering to hand with minimal commands, but at a minimum, ducks must come back to shore consistently.
Cost will be $20.00 per duck we use for your dog. Some dogs will use 2-3 each.
Payable at Clinic by Cash or Venmo
